I’ve been inspired to create short videos around the topic of gardens and gardening. I’m calling these videos “The Growth from Growth” (thanks to a member of the Renaissance People Community for the name suggestion!) I’ve set a rule that they will all be less than 1 minute long and I’m using them to explore how I can incorporate more videos into my LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram strategy. The data I will be collecting is around engagement and followers on those platforms and if/how those videos help. This was in part inspired by Connecting the Dots with The Renaissance People Episode 17 podcast guest Maggie Blackburn‘s Instagram video experiment which she mentioned on her episode, Learning from Everything with Maggie Blackburn, Jill-of-All-Trades.
Who knows where this experiment will go? I certainly don’t. Perhaps I’ll make all sorts of new gardening friends (or enemies who critique my gardening philosophy). Perhaps a bunch of people will get excited and decide to sign up for the August 2026 Fertile Grounds gathering because they are multi-passionate Renaissance People who love a good gardening metaphor! Whatever happens, this little project is filling my creative cup so I’m going to ride the wave of energy where it takes me!
