If you want to instigate a Sara rant, this picture is a GREAT way to start!
I first saw it hanging in a mental health provider’s office and it took everything in my power not to chastise them immediately.
What makes me so mad?
It’s mainly the right side. In particular, the word “creative” is on the right side while the word “science” is on the left.
As if science doesn’t involve creativity!!!
In the first guest episode of my new podcast, Connecting the Dots with The Renaissance People, my longtime friend and collaborator Nancy S. Coddington and I rip this idea to shreds.
Genuine science (not the memorization of facts that some people equate with science) is filled with opportunities to be creative.
Nancy’s episode, “Operating at the Intersection of STEM, Creativity and Fun with Nancy Scales Coddington, Multipassionate” will be released this Wednesday, November 26.
Check out our wide-ranging conversation where we talk about our science storytelling efforts, combining dance/movement with STEM, our love of blowing things up with liquid nitrogen, why math needs a new PR person, the challenge of introducing yourself when you’re a multi-passionate Renaissance Person and MORE!
You can find this and my previous episodes on your favorite podcast streaming platform or on this site.
