About

Sara Kobilka headshot

Hi! I’m Sara Kobilka, Renaissance Woman and dedicated lifelong learner. What’s a Renaissance Woman (or Renaissance Person)? I’m glad you asked! I’ve got a LinkedIn post exploring the topic.

Don’t feel like reading that? Here’s the basics. If you identify with any of the following terms, I consider you a fellow Renaissance Person: multipotentialite, multi-hyphenate, Jack/Jill-of-all-trades, versatilist, generalist, boundary spanner. My own career has spanned multiple industries including TV news, non-profits, higher education and entrepreneurship. Like many mid-career Renaissance People, my resume spans well beyond the suggested 2 pages (but if you’re curious, check out my LinkedIn Experience section).

With this diverse background, I bring an interdisciplinary mindset to everything I do.

My values are:

– Honesty

– Extending grace

– Authenticity

– Mutual respect

– Curiosity

– Accuracy and acceptance of complexity

– Fair attribution and acknowledgment of work

– Supporting women and minority-owned businesses

I’m currently based out of the mid-Hudson Valley in New York. Along with my many business projects, I stay busy as a mom, wife, dog owner, gardener, fitness enthusiast, wine aficionado, theater nerd and much more.

  • Blue dotted background with a picture of Sara smiling in a purple shirt that says "I love lamp" and brightly colored skirt. Text reads, I STEM Together because...the only way to solve the wold's wicked problems is with a diversity of voices who feel they belong in STEM"
  • Sara sits on a large flat boulder with her younger daughter hugging her and her older daughter sitting next to her playing with small rocks. The background is desert cactus and shrubs with mountains behind them
  • Sara wears brightly colored workout clothes. Her face is turned to the camera with a relaxed smile as she is lying balanced on her upper back and neck with her legs extended to the ceiling in the candlestick pose.
  • Sara stands in front of her laptop which displays a Zoom meeting sign-in page. She's wearing a blue shirt with the chemical compound for serotonin on it that says, "be happy". She's giving a look to the camera that indicates "this is what you're getting, take it or leave it".
